2022 Womens Fishing Weekend - San Remo

Even though Saturday had to be changed to Sunday for us to go out on the charter,  it was a fabulous weekend.  Everyone who attended enjoyed themselves. Fishing wasn’t easy and only two fish were caught in the first two hours.  Terry and Craig who skippered the boat were extremely helpful and moved around to different areas to be able to get some fish.  Towards the last part of the trip fish started biting but the quantities were not there. Some of the species caught were:   Whiting, Pinkies,Yellow tail Yakka, Salmon, lots of undersized Gummies and Flathead and Eagle Rays.

Terry and Craig put on lovely finger food and drinks prepared by Amanda Keilar, host of the Ladies Fishing Charter.  Unfortunately, Amanda had to work on Sunday and could not join us. She came to meet us before we boarded the boat and wished us well.

There were 12 ladies on board and the fish was shared equally amongst all and each one was also given a goodie bag to take home with heaps of information about Women in Recreational Fishing.

Great prizes were awarded to those who caught the first or biggest fish etc.

A big thank you to Colin for allowing us ladies to stay at his holiday house.  Not far to travel to San Remo.

We enjoyed our stay and we are all looking forward to the next Ladies weekend from the Warneet Clubhouse.
